“What you are attempting to create in the world is so sorely needed right now. One of the things I love about your book is that it takes us on that journey into these places that many of us would never know about if you hadnā€™t done this study of unsung heroes. But all of us have the potential to become that kind of unsung hero in whatever community we live in, whatever we can do, however small or large. We are called to do itā€¦become intentional peacemakers.”

The Peacemakers in your work have certainly inspired me to make positive change in my life moving forward!

In our hurried, too full lives, do we even believe Peace to be a possibility? Or have we relegated Peace to a dream-with all the qualities of a dream, fleeting, ethereal, impossible to recall in much details for any length of time.

In "Women Peacemakers," Barbe Chambliss has written a moving and inspirational work that will touch the hearts of all readers, women and men alike.

Dr Chambliss has given the world a much needed boost with the publishing of this book. Her interest in highlighting peacemaking efforts through out the world has produced an incredible collection of inspirational stories that are well written and engaging.

My daughter loaned this book to me and I am ever so grateful. It covers the entire world and women who are inspiring others to make a difference. Having lived on 3 continents I felt a connection with the difficulties facing these Peacemakers. It also spurred me read another book written by one of the Peacemakers. Most interesting reading.

I so enjoyed this book that I'm gifting it to a friend! I was expecting dry political interviews and it couldn't have been further from that! Very very interesting and easy to read! Highly recommend!

A book that informs, uplifts and inspires, and a must-read for anybody who has an interest in peacemaking, and even for those who don't. Dr. Chambliss using the stories of 15 incredible women, describes in clear and simple terms the principle that underlies the act of peacemaking, and what a modern-day peacemaker looks like. This book, in my opinion, could also serve as a recipe for a worthy and fulfilling life."

Today is Palm Sunday, April 6, 2020. The world is engulfed in managing the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic. At noon, as I participated in a world-wide pause for pryaer, I felt the shared power of heartfelt concern for the well-being of all peoples as well as our planet. Reading Dr. Chambliss's book, "Women Peacemakers" gives me that same sense of restorative empowerment. Here is a book that will guide you into a higher quality of life for yourself and your community. Don't miss this opportunity to be uplifted into a more peaceful world.

In her groundbreaking book, Women Peacemakers, Dr. Barbe Chambliss provides a template for each person who wants to become a conscious peacemaker. Women Peacemakers is no dry read; it hums with the human quest to thrive; it compels with the real-life adventures of courageous women who have faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles in pursuit of a better life for themselves and others. Dr. Chambliss ability to communicate with a broad audience is empowered by her astute intellect, empathetic compassion, and hands-on intimacy with the earth. She not only holds a doctorate, she sits face to face with trauma clients as she guides them toward wholeness in her role as a psychotherapist, and she communes with nature when she puts on her organic farmerā€™s hat. Her writing interweaves a well-defined hypothesis for conscious peace-making with the intimate stories of fifteen women whose courageous acts serve as proofs. She invites the reader into the worlds and intimate lives of these women who defy odds and expectations as they use the tools of conscious peacemaking.

I was very surprised by the ways in which the author has illustrated the effects of "Women Peacemakers" around the world. Broaden your view of what makes peace to include the basic necessities of life, the caste systems that hold back some of the world's most able and willing practitioners, and generational traditions that no longer belong in today's societies. The chapters read like novels but educate like college texts. In both written and audio formats, the author has make a major contribution to understanding the wisdom and power of women who have made a difference through their caring, energy and determination. It was a good read.
